Step by Step Toward Your Own Application – “CRUD: Shipment History” Workshop Is Behind Us
What a story it was! Not too long, not too short – just right. It lasted two days and was the result of a collaboration between ShipStation and the University of Zielona Góra. We are, of course, talking about our “CRUD: Shipment History” workshop. Curious how it went?
Imagine a corporate-style environment recreated within a university setting. Instructors who not only teach but also listen. On top of that, a group of highly engaged participants working on their own application from scratch. Success was almost guaranteed.

On September 29–30, the workshop titled “CRUD: Shipment History” took place and was led by ShipStation engineers. The first part focused on the practical aspects of building an application for shipment management. Participants explored backend development, learned about modern tools and programming techniques, and discovered how to efficiently build a functional application.
The second day was dedicated to the visual side – because every application needs a user-friendly and intuitive interface. Together, we designed the application’s layout, paying close attention to details that improve the user experience.

It Wasn’t Just the Students Who Benefited
– This was not a typical knowledge exchange where one side talks and the other listens. We learned a lot as well – about the challenges faced by beginner programmers and how they approach problem-solving – says one of the workshop instructors, Marcin.
In return, we provided students with concrete skills they can apply directly in professional projects. Gaining experience through real-world tasks also builds confidence when taking the first steps in a programmer’s day-to-day work. We have to admit that we would be happy to see some of the participants again in the future – perhaps at a recruitment interview for our team.

To everyone who considered taking part in the workshop, we can say one thing with confidence: it was worth it.
